In the Jungle
original, watercolour on heavyweight rag paper, framed.
This piece is inspired by the wildlife found in South and Central America. As an artist, I am absolutely fascinated by big cats. This is a night time scene, with sleeping jaguars collapsed onto the branch under the stars.
A scene that is dreamlike and endlessly intriguing to me.
The Golden Octopus
Inspired by the fun and diversity that can be found in our oceans. Only, in these paintings, I have combined what you would expect to find in fresh water with salt water. A beautiful combination.
These paintings are a mix of dreamlike imagination; and a firm love and appreciation of the natural world. Now more than ever, the wildlife found in our oceans and who we share our planet with should be celebrated and treasured.
My work highlights what we know about the natural world, in the detailed reference I use when I create a painting; but also the mysteries of what we do not know. When I allow my imagination to run wild and invent fascinating spectacles of sights unseen. Only to ever be found in our wildest dreams.
Work 3 of 3 in the Enchanted Reef triptych
English Jungle II, original, watercolour on heavyweight rag paper, framed.
A follow-up to the original English Jungle. Drawing on the characters that can be found in the British countryside.
Hidden Kingdoms, original, watercolour on heavyweight rag paper, framed.
This is one of my favourite paintings of 2019. I loved painting this painting and adding in all sorts of wonderful and wacky creatures. Insects that I could only dream of; some real and some completely imagined. This big cat, surrounded by colourful frogs, orchids, lizards, butterflies, succulents as he makes his way through the jungle, under a blanket of stars.
Beneath The Amazon Canopy
A bright, vivid and detailed painting depicting the wonderful wildlife found in Central and South America. Here sloths slowly play in the trees, jaguars make their way from fallen tree trunks to the forest floor, All surrounded by lush foliage and tropical plants; where other little creatures can be found hiding amonst the dense leaves...
